A week of small tasks

Many of the activities in my books follow the same pattern. One small task, one day, a short conversation in the evening. Families can easily continue this form on their own, even without a book.

A possible week looks like this. Monday: ask someone a question and listen to the whole answer. Tuesday: give back something you borrowed. Wednesday: thank a person you rarely notice. Thursday: greet a neighbour. Friday: share something you would like to keep. Saturday: help without being asked. Sunday: tell which day was the hardest.

The last point is the most important one. When children are allowed to say what was difficult for them, the exercise turns into a conversation. And conversations last longer than lists.
