Faith in daily life

A year of stories

FAITH IN DAILY LIFE What this year taught me most,at the writing desk and at thekitchen table. Asma Balfaqih asmabalfaqih.com

For a year I wrote stories and first tested them on two very strict readers. My sons notice immediately when a sentence sounds preachy.

What I learned: children do not need perfect role models in books. They need characters who are allowed to do something wrong and then put it right.

For the coming year I wish for more of that. Stories that do not prescribe how a day should look, but show how many good possibilities an ordinary day holds.
